The Corvair's premier trim level was the new Corsa, situated above the 500 and Monza; it replaced the Spyder and was available in sport coupe and convertible body styles. This clean Corsa convertible, a product of of Bill Mitchell's design studio at GM, features a turbocharged engine, which breathed through a single 1-bbl. Carter carburetor and produced 180hp. The transmission is the optional 4-speed. The car's independent rear suspension design, borrowing its basic design from the Corvette, makes the Corvair a neutral, well-balanced handler.
